village up until about 3 years ago when the Crown decided to expand the
Cormyrean Navy presences here for patrolling The Neck. (The Neck is the strait

A fish bottling plant was built, the city walls were started, the War Wizards of Comyr stopped a plot by Westgate “powers” to poison the wells of the town, and then the wars came.
The first war, called the Traitors War where undead traitors from Cormyrs past, who could detect magic, killed those who used it, and sucked it out of items. Oh, and they were immune to magic too. These undead terrorized Cormyr and lead armies of Orcs and Goblins out of the north destroying everything in their path. These armies made it as far as, and into, Arabel. The war ended when the undead were killed by Princess Tanalasta who died giving birth to her son named Azoun, after her father King Azoun IV. At the same time the King, fighting the final battle against the goblins and a gigantic red dragon, killed the dragon at the cost of his own life. The baby became Azoun V and his aunt, Princess Alusair, became the Royal Regent and is called the Steel Regent, fondly, by her people.

These two wars, both being land based, focused the Crown’s attention to the army and away from the navy. The staggering loss of life, and the financial and hardships brought by the wars, the expansion of Dawngleam staggered to a halt. The city wall lays unfinished. Large tracks of land inside the city, bought by land spectators, lay empty. Building sit empty, or half built. The population which was around 800 three years ago, jumped to 1,200 and is back down to around 950 today.

Local Lord: Rath Dauntinghorn. Generally thought of as a good and fair Lord.
Tibor Calent: Lawyer of Cormyr. It’s unuasual for a town of this size to have a lawyer, but the boom town action lead to him moving here from Suzial, he fell in love with a local and decided to stay.
Rauf Orandeth, Ornrion(Lt. Colonel): Garrison commander of the Purple Dragons in Dawngleam
Kivar Lormann (half elf), Commodore: In charge of the naval forces stationed in Dawngleam.
Kalen Rogstr: Owner and operator of the Deepshire Inn, the only other inn and bar in Dawngleam. He is also, according to the locals, the best brewer in 100 miles. He is a jolly and good man, who welcomed Val’s uncle’s inn, as healthy competition, and was more than willing to sell beer to the Tricorn (the name the uncle gave his/Val’s inn).
Oswald Brittein: high priest of the temple of Lathander in Dawngleam. Two underpriests at the temple: Demil Grandmire (half elf), Aria Tilong.
Morgan Litten: Former high preist of the temple of Selune. Killed by Were creatures the 22th day of Mirtul in the Year of Wild Magic (1372 DR). Brother of town Stable master. His sucessor is Kayla Winsong a half elven priest and fiancé of Morgan.
Wirell Runyard: town tailor. Daughter Aelveva helps in his shop and is around town a lot.
Aldtrid Koerang: Town Baker. Son Tomas Koerang. dating Hamish's granddaughter Tara.
Hamish Alexandar: Friend of Val's uncle, Custodian of the Inn until Val arived. Killed by Were creatures the 26th day of Mirtul in the Year of Wild Magic (1372 DR). Survived by Granddaughter, Tara.
Tomas Koerang. He is the son of the local baker, dating Hamish's granddaughter Tara, and current bartender/ business manager of the Tricorn Inn.
Tara Alexander: Granddaughter of Hamish, currently engaged to Tomas Koerang. Waitress/laundry person of the Tricorn Inn.
Galen Forsons: Elven barkeep/minstrel at the Tricorn Inn.
Hanna Alexander: Cousin of Tara, cook at the Tricorn Inn.
Morgan Orandeth: Son of garrison commander. Assistant cook/handyman/ and bouncer at the Tricorn Inn.

Sa'Lan: Aariel (winged elf) apprentice of Koba. Masquerades as a giant butterfly while in town.

Alamar: Elven merchant, rumored to have moved here from Evermeet.
Locations:
Town Hall/ Dauntinghorn Keep: A combination town hall, has a large meeting room the town uses for meetings, and Lord Rath Dauntinghorn home. Guarded by 20 men at arms.
Citadel of the Neck: fortress that acts as base for both the local army/town garrison and for the Cormyrian navy.
Blue Dragons Naval garrison size: 4 warships are based here, 1-2 normally in port at any one time. Average crew size per ship is 100 men. Roughly 1/3 of a single ships crew is on shore leave at any one time.
Purple Dragon Army garrison: 288 men. Roughly 10% are out of town on patrol at one time. Roughly 10% are on leave at one time.
