Where to start? First off: Sunburns hurt. I had
forgotten that minor fact.
Ok, now that that's out of the way, Today we went far from Roswell. About
an hour and a half southwest to Alamogordo and White Sands.
On the way there we stopped at a casino. D down 20. M up 5. That's all
I'm going to say about that. :D
In Alamogordo we when to the National Air and
Space Museum. Lots of big rockets. About the history and space stuff. It
was very cool. They had a simulator where you could try to land the space
shuttle. D and I tried it. He did better than me, but that's cause he watched
me do it first.
Lots of Phallic symbolism floating around this museum...
Then we went down to White Sands National Monument. It had been years
since I climbed a sand dune and had a blast. Donovan enjoyed it as well,
even after I threatened his manhood if he didn't climb one. ;) Since the
WSNM is right next to an Air force base we even got to see a stealth fighter
cruising by at a couple hundred feet.
The strangest thing I saw there was in the picnic grounds. There were
barbecue grills. Who in their right mind would go out in the middle of
the desert and BBQ?!?!?!
Well friends, this is it. I hope you all have enjoyed this
little travel log. I know that Donovan and I enjoyed taking the pictures.
I think that I might start doing this most times I take a trip. It's fun
and it's a way to keep friends involved when they can't join me.
One last thing. MANY MANY thanks to Robin for taking these
ramblings and pictures and putting them up on my website for all of my friends
and family to see and all of Donovan's friends in Rochester.
